Quantity Surveyor Registration

Persons wishing to use the title "Quantity Surveyor" in Ireland are required to complete a registration process.

The purpose of the authorisation scheme is a consumer protection measure, by ensuring that persons using the title of "Quantity Surveyor" have recognised and adequate qualifications.
The process is set out in Part 4 of the Building Control Act 2007 (Number 21 of 2007). This legislation was implemented on 1 May 2008 by the Building Control Act 2007 (Commencement) Order 2008 (S.I. No. 50 of 2008). Both the Act and the Commencement Order can be found on http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/.
